High Desert Youth Range Camp - Applications Due
High Desert Youth Range Camp
June 19-23, 2011
Northern Great Basin Experimental Range near Burns, Oregon
The state of Oregon is a dynamic and diverse state with a plethora of different
and unique ecosystem landscapes. The High Desert, which exists throughout the
Great Basin region, is the dominating ecosystem throughout much of Eastern
Oregon, Nevada and Idaho. It is critical that all who utilize this vast landscape
understand and appreciate the ecosystem and its resources. In these times,
decisions regarding the health and management of these natural resources are
more critical than ever. Unfortunately, it is becoming more common that the
decision makers and those who have the most influence, do not have a background, understanding or true value of the land they are in a position to manage or wish to control. But alas, you can make a difference!!
